Vacature Chemical Process Engineer in Gent

Functieomschrijving

Role:In close collaboration with your colleagues in the pilot team, you are responsible for:

 Installing the pilot plant and ensuring a successful SAT (Site Acceptance Test) - Putting all units of the process into operation according to the design specifications;
 Securing safe and efficient operations on a daily base;
 Drafting & implementing procedures to ensure compliance with internal and external regulation (e.g. risk assessment, SOP, TRA, working permit, lock-out-tag-out);
 Identifying and solving process issues that may arise;
 Designing and installing new process equipment and process modifications when required after start-up;
 Performing process trials in order to obtain reliable data for scale up and qualitative on-spec samples for application testing;
 Monitoring of equipment and ensuring maintenance tasks are carried out correctly;
 Assisting Process & Lab Technicians in troubleshooting in the event of a problem.

Profiel en vaardigheden

Profile of the ideal candidate:

 You have a Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering or Chemical Engineering with several years of industrial experience in the chemical industry;
 Thanks to your experience you have knowledge in operating and/or troubleshooting chemical processes;
 Safety is part of your DNA;
 You can handle ad hoc needs to assure continuous functioning of the pilot;
 You have a critical, analytical and hands-on mindset which ensures that you can translate operational and analytical results into the next set of experiments;
 It also enables you to solve process issues by finding and addressing the root-cause;
 You enjoy working in a team;
 Your communication skills allow you to interact constructively with both colleagues and third parties;
 You are fluent in Dutch and English. You have solid written and oral communication skills in both languages to create instructions, reports and presentations.
